Quarterly Social Networking Poll
LinkedIn. Facebook. Twitter. What are you on?
We recently asked 1,551 HR and business professionals the following question:
Which social networking tools do you use?
Here are the responses:
- LinkedIn only: 15%
- Facebook only: 11%
- Twitter only: 0%
- LinkedIn and Facebook: 30%
- Facebook and Twitter: 2%
- LinkedIn and Twitter: 0%
- LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter: 5%
- None:34%
Let’s break it down . . .
More than a third of those polled don’t use any of the social networking tools we listed. About one in four uses either LinkedIn or Facebook.
The rest use some combination of the tools, with the most popular combination being LinkedIn and Facebook (30%), followed by LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (5%).
Adding everything up, 50% of you use LinkedIn, 46% use Facebook and only 7% use Twitter.
So, how have the results changed since last quarter?
The popular LinkedIn/Facebook combo continued to grow, moving up 11%. Twitter may be falling a bit out of fashion, as its use fell about 30%. Indeed, people may be getting tired of social networking overall, as the percentage of those who don’t use any of the tools actually increased about 21%.
So, that’s what sites are being used. Tune in tomorrow to see how they’re being used.
