EEOC’s 2009 Agenda

What does the EEOC have planned for 2009?  According to EECO Chair Naomi Earp, top priorities include:

  • pursuing discrimination charges based on “priority, novel or emerging legal issues in the context of race and color discrimination” as part of its E-RACE Initiative;
  • issuing rules under the new Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) and ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA) (click here for more on GINA and here for more on the ADAAA); and
  • continuing the EEOC’s outreach and prevention programs, including the Youth at Work and LEAD initiatives.
