Daily Dose of Dumb

How not to lay off employees . . .

A bankrupt airline that shall remain nameless issued employees a handy guide entitled 101 Ways to Save Money shortly before laying them off.  The booklet contained many useful tips, including:

  • dumpster diving (“don’t be shy about pulling something you like out of the trash”)
  • making kitty litter out of old shredded newspapers
  • borrowing friends’ clothes instead of buying your own
  • making your own cheap baby food
  • taking more efficient showers
  • exploring low-cost dating alternatives (e.g., walks in the woods) to avoid blowing money on someone you’re probably not going to marry anyway

Please don’t try these in your workplace.

  1. BUGWB Says:

Not bad compared to a message from an outplacement firm working with a large group of dislocated Mfg. employees.

Directions included a water conservation program. It was suggested that “If it’s yellow, let it mellow. If it’s brown, flush it down”

Got a heck of a laugh, and a smile is important.
